John Forney has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer and as a Director since July 2020.
He joins the company with 20 years of experience advising and leading catastrophe insurance entities, most recently from his eight years as President and CEO of UPC Insurance.
Mr. Forney received a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a former U.S. Army Infantry officer and a graduate of Ranger School. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Deepak Menon has served as our Chief Operating Officer since November 2020. Previously, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at UPC Insurance.
Mr. Menon has over 2 decades of experience in finance, sales and marketing of specialty insurance products.
Mr. Menon obtained a B.S in Finance from the University of South Carolina and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Tampa. Mr. Menon also holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.
Brian Sheekey has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since March, 2006.
Mr. Sheekey has over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining GeoVera, Mr. Sheekey was Chief Financial Officer of Tower Hill Insurance Group, Inc. a Florida-based homeowners insurer from 1998 to March 2006.
Mr. Sheekey specializes in areas of reinsurance, personal lines insurance, and surplus lines insurance in catastrophe-exposed markets. Mr. Sheekey received a B.S. in Accounting from St. John’s University.
Ms Basoz is the Chief Underwriting Office of GeoVera. She joined GeoVera in 2001 and was the SVP, UW/Analytics from 2008 to 2016.
She has nearly 25 years of experience in product development, applying data and business analytics to underwriting, catastrophe risk and portfolio management.
Ms. Basoz received her PhD in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, specializing in earthquake engineering and risk management. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Structural Engineering from METU Ankara, Turkey.
Holly Wolf joined GeoVera in 2005 and has served as the Vice President of Claims since November 2019. Before GeoVera, she served as a Branch Manager for an independent adjusting company for ten years. That experience has been invaluable in the direction of field staff in the front-end investigation of claims.
Since joining GeoVera, Ms. Wolf has managed multiple record-setting catastrophic events, including, as of 2021, Hurricanes Isaac, Matthew, Harvey, Irma, Michael, Florence, Laura, Sally, Delta, and Zeta.
Ms. Wolf’s education and training include Property Adjusting, Residential Estimating, Casualty Adjusting, and Transportation Fleet Services at Vale Training in Arlington, TX. She has also been a CLM speaker, PLRB speaker, and speaker at the AL Defense Attorney Association annual meeting.
