Off the coast of Orange County, California, San Clemente was rattled by a magnitude-3.6 earthquake that struck on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 1:05 a.m. Pacific Time. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake was about a depth of four miles.
The shaking was felt in Avalon, Oceanside, San Clemente, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Vista, San Diego, and Los Angeles.
