A magnitude-6.2 earthquake struck Northern California, off the coast of Eureka, CA on December 20, 2021 at 1:10 PM Monday, Pacific Time.
Residents in wide-spread areas of Northern California felt shaking, with the strongest shaking felt in Humboldt, Mendocino, and Trinity Counties. Residents as far north as Oregon also reported shaking.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the shaking “sent some residents scrambling for cover as windows shattered and household items crashed onto the floor.”
Redwood News reports, “In Fortuna, local businesses suffered from the magnitude of the earthquake. Causing many damages to windows and merchandise.”
