Magnitude-3.9 Earthquake Strikes Near Olympic Peninsula.
A magnitude-3.9 earthquake struck the Olympic Peninsula of Washington on Wednesday at 4:18 p.m. local time. Its epicenter was in Olympic National Park, about 40 miles Southwest of Seattle. According to the USGS, weak-to-light shaking was reported in Seattle, Renton, and Issaquah.
This earthquake is the latest in a series of seismic events in the region. A magnitude-4.5 earthquake shook Orcas Island near the Washington-Canada border earlier in the week, with additional quakes recorded between February 21 and 22.
