According to the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude-5.2 earthquake struck Lamont, California, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 9:09 p.m. SW of Lamont, at a depth of 7 miles. The earthquake was felt with significant shaking throughout Southern California. According to USGS data, at least two dozen aftershocks followed it, many of them measuring 3.0 or higher in the Lamont and Grapevine areas.
